1st Sustainable Mobility Public Event in Hersonisos

From October 8th to 10th, the Municipality of Hersonisos organised the 1st Sustainable Mobility Public Event and the 6th Transnational Meeting of the SMILE Project. The meetings were held in Hersonisos at the municipality buildings.

On October 9th, during the seminar on Sustainable mobility, experts from Italy and Greece, shared their experience on European Electric Transport Policies for sustainable mobility, SUMPs in Greece and Sustainable mobility plans and measures applied in Greek tourist destinations.

The Transnational Meeting was opened on October 9th, by the Deputy Mayor of Tourism, Technical Works and Employment Mr. Konstantinos Anastasakis, who welcomed the participants. Among the topics discussed were reporting activities, financial and communication issues as well as the next steps for the five project work packages. The current status of the transnational SUMP scheme for urban and interurban areas of the ADRION region and WP3 T3 activities: IT testing, e-mobility solutions & mainstreaming activities, as well as the current status of local relevant work, were also presented.

On October 10th, the partners had the opportunity to visit the Monastery of Gouverniotissa and the monumental plane tree of Krasi.
