Annual MIC reunion at School center Velenje

January 30th, 2020|Events Archive, News Archive|

The MIC annual reunion was held at the end of last month on January 23. The School centre Velenje  presented its work from 2019 to their business partners from the Economy, Education and Local Public Administration from Slovenia and abroad, as well as plans for the current year and the near future. They particularly emphasised  project work and adult education.

They also introduced the ongoing SMILE project (FirSt and last Mile Inter-modal mobiLity and congested urban arEas of the Adrion region) funded by the European Union under the Interreg Adrion programme. The project aims to contribute to the sustainable development of the region as well as assist in the formulation of a sustainable mobility policy and joint transnational SUMP plans; technological solutions will test the benefits of sustainable urban mobility and create an application that will allow each passenger and tourist to monitor total traffic flow in the targeted area, find alternative solutions and calculate their own CO2 emissions based on the means of transport selected.

Also worth mentioning are the many upgrades made to the MICycle systems, which can now be found in many larger and smaller municipalities across Slovenia. With the partner company CULT

d.o.o. in 2019, SCV expanded their existing systems and implemented new systems in Kamnik, Mežica, Ribnica and Kočevje. With the development and more affordable prices and the increasingly practical implementation, electric bike rental systems and combined electric bike rental systems are becoming more and more popular.
