Electric Mobility, Sicily approves the guidelines for the plan

The Regional Government of Sicily approved the Guidelines for the Electric Mobility Plan. The planning was drafted in compliance with state and community legislation, and is supportive of the creation of an efficient and distributed network throughout the territory, with charging infrastructures for electric vehicles. The national legislation introduces the obligation of columns on all newly established road installations as well as on the existing ones if subjected to total restructuring. Thus, Sicily contributes to sustainable transport in favour of a progressive reduction of environmental impact and polluting emissions: vehicular traffic and smog negatively affect the livability of our urban centers.

The Region intends to place about two thousand electric charging columns throughout the regional territory by 2022, in accordance with the growth of the market of pure and hybrid electric vehicles.
