ZADRA NOVA has entered its final project implementation year with outputs and deliverables being up to date, done and exercised efficiently and correctly. Mobility scenarios have been created within the Elaboration of transnational action plan where strategies and measures to impact Zadar FUA transport issues have been set. Fostering active modes (walking and cycling) is in line with all upper-level transport policies; regional/national/EU. All the documents needs of an individual are at the centre of their focus with special emphasis on increasing the share of walking and cycling.

There is a plan for turning the historic Zadar city centre into a shared pedestrian zone since the majority of tourist attractions, but also public and governmental services/offers are located there. The strategies and measures are:  promotion of sustainable mobility and healthy lifestyle through educational activities, moving the parking lot to the suburbs and to the edges of the city, improving the infrastructure of sidewalks in accordance with EU and national standards, extend real-time displays on public transport stations, install a ticket machines, implementation of e-ticket (digitalisation), implementation of the shared spaced zone. Furthermore, deliverables T2.1.2 ( T2 capitalisation meeting) and T2.1.1 (Composition of transnational working group (TWG) and work programme within activity T2.1 (Establishment of a transnational working group) have been done and presented during the project partner meeting in Tirana. It has been concluded that strategic transport sector documents are only developed at the national level while at the regional level they are in the process of being developed. After the beginning of the Traffic Master Plan implementation in Northern Dalmatia functional region, in the upcoming period the development of strategic and operational documents such as Sustainable mobility plans, action plans and other studies at the local level will be prepared.

Also to be noted, the capitalisation of methodologies developed in other projects, especially in MED project MOBILITAS has been exercised. Data collection on sustainable mobility will be transferred to the SMILE project along with know-how and experience regarding mobility scenarios and sustainable urban mobility plans. Furthermore, a pilot project regarding designing application that will register and locate all freight and cargo delivery vehicles will be completed in the second half of the project.
